A custom app for one client is not SaaS. SaaS means a second company can sign up without a new project. That is why SaaS development costs more than a brochure site and less than a marketplace-with-payouts.
Version one should include
- Sign-up, login and a tenant boundary you can explain.
- The one job the buyer hired you to do.
- A plan, a trial or a Stripe checkout — even if prices change later.
- An admin so you can disable a tenant without SSH.
Version one should not include
- SSO, marketplace, AI “platform”, and five unused integrations.
- A native app before a stranger has paid for the web product.
- Pixel-perfect marketing on every settings screen.
What moves the quote
Payments, roles, and whether data is relational. APIs for a mobile client add a second surface. We quote milestones after a written tenancy sketch — not a logo.
Write the one sentence: “A [role] uses this to [job] so they can [outcome].” Send it to contact.
